Meeting in Nicosia (University of Cyprus) presenting results from Project 2

A Meeting in Nicosia was held on the 25 th of September 2008 in Nicosia (University of Cyprus). This conference presented the results from Project 2 and was aimed at teachers, researchers, policy makers, parents and students. The participants came from all levels of education (pre-primary, primary and secondary) as well as from programmes of Vocational Training and Special Education. During the first part of the conference, Marta Soler, the KMC Coordinator, presented the INCLUD-ED project in general and Miranda Christou, the Project 2 Leader, presented the findings of Project 2. In the second part of the conference partners chaired workshops and presented the main results related to the different educational levels or programmes.

Review meeting in Brussels (3 March 2008)

The Review Meeting for the First Reporting Period of the Includ-ed Project will be held on the 3rd of March 2008. The meeting was attended by Alessia Bursi (European Commission Scientific Officer), Ramón Flecha (main researcher), Marta Soler (KMC coordinator), Teresa Sordé (Integration Project leader), Mikko Ojala (a partner of the Includ-ed Project), Elena Duque (Project Manager of the Includ-ed Project), the EC Scientific Evaluators and 2 members of the DG for Education and Culture. The main results of the Includ-ed Project were presented, followed by a question and answer section and a discussion. A plan was made to send out the evaluation after the conclusion of the meeting.

First Advisory Committe meeting (6th of October)

The 1st Advisory Committee Meeting took place on October the 6th 2007 in Barcelona (Spain) and its function was to act as a consultancy body for the work carried out in the first year of the Includ-ed project. The meeting consisted of a presentation of the results of Project 1 and a discussion and reflection between representatives of different vulnerable groups. The members of the Advisory Committee contributed from the point of view of end users to the results from the first year and suggested contributions towards the inclusion of vulnerable groups from education.

Consortium meeting (Barcelona, 4th and 5th of December)

This meeting took place in Barcelona on the 4th and 5th of December 2006. The different partners who are participating in the project attended this meeting, as well as the European Commission Scientific Officer from Unit L4 – Scientific Culture and Gender Questions, European Commission – DG Research.

The meeting focused on how to carry out the work over the following months and the objectives aimed for. The aim of the research is to provide recommendations to the EU, as there is a relationship between certain scientific evidence and certain political measures and outcomes.

Consequently an overview was given of the project, Project 1 was discussed, Project 6 and Project 2, as well an overview of the project website. It was also an opportunity for the members of the Knowledge Management Committee and the Steering Committee to have a meeting.

Knowledge Management Committee meeting (Barcelona, 4th of December)

This meeting took place in Barcelona on the 4th of December 2006 and was attended by the coordinator of the KMC and the various project leaders in the Include-ed project.

The subjects of debate in the meeting were as follows: First: Guaranteeing the High Quality and Excellence of any kind of Scientific Production. Second, the Confidentiality and Data Protection Plan. Third, the Dissemination and Training activities. Fourth, the Implementation of the Gender Action Plan. Fifth, the Selection Process for the Members of the Advisory Committee. Sixth, the Selection Process for the 10 Panel of Experts members.
