Teresa Sordé, the project leader for the Integration Project (Partner 16, UAB) gave a lecture in the Universitiy of Wisconsin-Madison (USA) about Roma women in relation to issues of social inclusion and exclusion.

The seminar included the presentation of the INCLUD-ED project, emphasising its focus on vulnerable groups, amongst them cultural groups and women, and the importance of using education as a means to overcome the inequalities that these groups face. The situation of Roma women inEuropewas described, including their requests for a more inclusive and quality education for Roma children. Additionally, the critical communicative methodology was presented as a methodology which is suitable for studying social inequalities and vulnerable groups and which proposes transformative action, and also as a methodology which has already been used in European research.

The participants were international PhD students from the School of Education and from other departments in the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Faculty members from the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in theSchoolofEducationalso attended this lecture.
