We support CREA for daring to break the silence about gender violence in Spanish universities by conducting the first serious scientific research on the topic, and we condemn the attacks that CREA has received as a result of its courageous work.

Ruth Milkman, Professor of Sociology at CUNY and one of the first to report gender violence in universities in the US in 1978 and founding member of Women Organized Against Sexual Harassment (WOASH).

Michael Burawoy, Professor of Sociology at University of California-Berkeley. He supported the survivors of the US’s pioneer complaints for sexual violence in academia in late 70’s.

Raewyn Connell, Professor emeritus at the University of Sidney and known for the concept of hegemonic masculinity and southern theory.
