Fernando Macías Aranda, Roma researcher at the Roma Studies Group (CEG) of CREA, is developing an international research stay as a visiting scholar at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, from August 2016 to November 2016. Specifically, Macías has been accepted by the Curriculum & Instruction (C&I) Department at the School of Education at the UW-Madison. C&I is ranked #1 by the US News and World Report in the 2017 Best Grad Schools.
Macías has been invited by Dr. Carl Grant, who is Hoefs-Bascom Professor at the C&I. Dr. Grant is working for more than thirty years with teachers and administrators who commit to improve students’ achievement, social justice and multicultural education, among others. Macías is also participating in other academic spaces with internationally recognized faculty, as Dr. Michael Apple, Dr. Gloria Ladson-Billings, Dr. Catherine Compton-Lilly, or Dr. Lesley Bartlett, among others.
