Javier Díez-Palomar, researcher from CREA, has been selected as a member of the Numeracy Expert Group (NEG), a group of international experts in charge of conducting the OECD’s PIAAC survey (Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competences). PIAAC measures the skills of adults in key skills for information processing, including numerical literacy or the resolution of problems in digital environments. PIAAC also collects data on how adults use their numerical skills at home, at work and in their communities.

During the next five years, the second round of the survey will be developed and carried out, which will serve to update the knowledge about the numerical competencies of the world adult population necessary to be successful at work, life and the critical participation in the society of the 21st Century.
