On Wednesday October 26th, Aitor Gómez, Oriol Ríos and Mar Joanpere were at the Annual Conference of the American Evaluation Association in Atlanta, Georgia. The improvement of evaluation programs at multidisciplinary level was the main issue at this conference. Also explore how design and evaluation can be integrated to strength programs, benefit the environment and improve the lives of people. This conference guests more than 5000 people, from different countries and backgrounds, leading the international debate on how we can measure and evaluate research projects.

In this context, three researchers from CREA presented a panel focused on the results of IMPACT-EV project and the social impact criteria developed by the Social Impact Open Repository. Both, the conceptualization of the IMPACT-EV results and the Social Impact Criteria were demonstrated following the scientific, policy and social impacts of the project on Gender-based Violence in Spanish Universities.
The session was conducted by the Prof. Donna Mertens, former president of American Evaluation Association and Professor Emeritus – Gallaudet University, acted as a discussant and highlighted in front of the audience CREA’s knowledge on the evaluation of social impact and she also pointed out relevant elements for the debate such as the analysis of intangible issues or the necessity to involve stakeholders and end-users in research projects.
