Last Tuesday 16th June, the SOLIDUS. Solidarity in European societies: empowerment, social justice and citizenship (2015-2018) project first meeting was held. This project has been funded by the European Commission in the framework of the Horizon2020 and its director is Dr. Marta Soler.

More tan 30 researchers from 14 countries and institutions participated in this meeting including the European Commission, the University of Barcelona (Catalonia), Deusto University (Basque Country), Central European University (Hungary), Oslo and Akershus University (Norway); National School of Public Health (Portugal); University College Dublin (Ireland); Roskilde University (Denmark); University of Cyprus (Cyprus); University of Edinburgh and University of Oxford (UK); Matej Bel University (Slovakia); University of Leipzig (Germany) ad University of Peloponnese (Greece).

The objective of this meeting –which was held at the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Barcelona-, was to set the grounds for the joint work of scientifically identifying which are those successful actions based on solidarity which are being developed in the European context, as well as their potential transference to the whole population.
